My hobbies?

Over the years I've had different hobbies, but the last couple of years, due to time (or the lack of it), 3 major ones have left.

The first one is photography. I've started in the late 80's with my dad's SLR (a Ricoh XR-P) and enjoyed it a lot. By the mid 90's, the flame had died a bit but it phoenixes by the end of  2002. As my wife was pregnant of our second son, I felt the need to get a new cam, and by then digital photography caught my interest. I started out with a Fujifilm S602z, an SLR-style prosumer camera. About a year later, the bug bit me even harder, and since the beginning of 2003, I've been using a Canon 10D with various accessories...

The second one is comic books (European style). This is a hobby I had as long as I can remember. I started reading my uncle's comics: classics like Suske en Wiske, Jommeke, de Rode Ridder, Bessy, Robert en Bertrand. Since then my interest has changed to other genres (e.g. Lanfeust, Dallas Barr,...), and by now I have a collection of about 3.000 comics.... I'm still working on that part of the site...

The third and last one is my computer . I've been building my own PC's since I was about 14 years old, and never stopped since. Nowadays, it is a lot less fun to do, since it is quite hard to mess up. In the good old days you had do switch jumpers to activate about everything, and if you we're wrong, good change you'd fried the processor and all the rest. But my interest is still there....

My profession?

I've studied for translator (Dutch, English, French, German and some notions of Spanish). After my studies (in July 1998), I've been working in a software company, which has specialized in developing software for feed, food and animal production. At first, I've implemented our ERP-software for about 5 years as a business consultant, and in May 2003, I had the opportunity  to become a Business Development Manager FEED (or Sales representative) for the Netherlands. Since 2005 I'm also responsible for German-speaking countries, and in 2006, Belgium and France were added....
